Múinteoir Sarah’s Senior Infants
“Waddling in a winter wonder land” by M. Sarah’s Senior Infants!
The boys and girls began by making their paper plate penguins during our winter Aistear lessons with
M. Sarah, followed by making our TREEmendous Christmas trees with M. Sarah Mangan and finally making very sweet gingerbread houses with M. Niamh!

Our Window is called Winter Wonderland.
Sleigh bells ring in the sky over a snowy and sleepy village. Santa’s sleigh is so packed full of presents as he delivers to each of the houses. For the background of our display stuck down snowflakes with white tack, used sponges to paint on blue paint, then peeled the snowflakes on to create prints. We coloured and cut our presents to fill Santa’s sleigh with. We used sponge painting to create our reindeer. We needed one big rectangle, one triangle for their heads and 4 small rectangles for their feet. We then stuck on eyes and a big red nose! For the houses, we painted a page brown and then picked our favourite colours for the roof. We cut out our doors and stuck on stickers to decorate them. We also made some Elves on the shelf using our own faces!

Our Christmas window is a winter scene. First, we made the background for our window by sponge painting around snowflakes with different shades of blue. Next, we made Christmas robins using paper plates, brown paper and red crepe paper for the robin’s red breast. Finally, each of the children wrote a letter and addressed an envelope to Santa which we attached to a Christmas post box! We really enjoyed creating our Christmas window. It showcases our beautiful art work as well as our writing which we have been working really hard on in Senior Infants!
